The China-Us circular Economy Expert Dialogue Briefing meeting was successfully held
In order to implement the Sunnylands Statement on Strengthening Cooperation to Address the Climate Crisis, on October 31, 2024, the Circular Economy Task Force of the China-Us Climate Action Working Group held a briefing of the China-Us Circular Economy Expert Dialogue via video conference.Mr. Dechun Liu, Director General of the Department of Environmental Information of the National Development and Reform Commission, and Mr. Rick Duke, Deputy Special Envoy of the US President for Climate Issues, attended and addressed the meeting. Mr. Mark Kasman, Director of the Office of International Affairs of the US Environmental Protection Agency, chaired the meeting.
LiyangZhu, President of the China Circular Economy Association, Yonggang Wang, Secretary-General of the Recycled Plastics Branch of the China Materials Recycling Association, Wei Zhang, President of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Remanufacturing Industry Technology Institute, And the American Plastic Recycling Association Technical director Scott Traynor, the United States Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory senior scientist Nan Zhou, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory scientist Bo Shen, Energy innovation organization policy analyst Sonali Deshpan, Energy innovation organization policy analyst Nick Savi and other nine experts on behalf of the expert team on plastic pollution control and plastic The three topics of ecological design standards for materials and products, recycling and efficiency of building materials, and remanufacturing reported the joint research results of the expert group. The two sides reached consensus on the potential of cooperation in the above areas and proposed the direction of cooperation in the near and medium term.
All members of the China-U.S. Circular Economy Expert Group, as well as representatives from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the U.S. Department of State, the Office of the U.S. Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, and the U.S. Embassy in China attended the meeting.
